Doritos is a hyper-realist oil painting that takes a fun take at an ordinary item, which is so characteristic of the pop-art movement.
The painting started as a study in light and challenge, foil is one of the most unforgiving subjects you can paint. Every crinkle catches the light differently, every fold collapses into its own shadow, and the surface never stops moving even when it's still. It demanded complete attention. And somewhere between the first brushstroke and the last highlight, it became something more than a technical exercise.
